The Producer’s Why:

The boredom of my childhood summers too hot to go outside, too unpopular to be invited somewhere, and too poor to afford something to do, made for a kid with literally nothing to do. However, one of the ways I found reprieve from my boredoms was with a pair of drug store headphones, a song I’d listened to at least 400 times, and a world I’d created others couldn’t penetrate. That world has since grown and impacted me like it’s part of my DNA, like one side of my double helix are melodies and chorus’ expressing emotions I don’t know how to express myself. That’s how much Music means to me, it was and remains one of my first safe spaces, and I’m excited to share it with you.

Then, I discovered the gift of radio, a medium that’s never turned me away and carries a special nostalgia. The local radio programs and it’s stories provided something new for me, one where I could be lost in my world of music and still feel connected to others. I discovered warmth through the stories I heard over the airwaves, and soon, my safe space filled with little pockets of humanity connecting me to others. These motifs of reliability, relatability, and nostalgia continue to inspire my work today.

The Tendernob Radioshow, a San Francisco-based soup-for-the-soul radio program, awaits you. The people I’ve lived among, the stories we’ve experienced, the tears we’ve cried, the kisses we’ve peppered, the hugs we hold on to, this is San Francisco, this is it’s people, and these are our confessions.
